I am a great-grandson of Christoph and it was my understanding that Christoph was buried in Trinity Lutheran church cemetary on 159th St in Tinley Park. How can we verify where he actually is buried?

Yes, Christoph Breitbarth is currently at Trinity Lutheran on 159th Street. The location where Trinity Lutheran is located used to be called the church of Batchelors Grove but the original church burned down many years ago.

While searching for records you will find obits stating "Bachelors Grove" and I know it's very confusing. If you would like to cross reference your material you can use this list provided by the wonderful people of the South Suburban Genealogical and Historical Society.

Of course, if you ever find a name not listed on that page please let me know!

Thank you very much! This information is very helpful. Do you know when the change occurred from Bachelors to Trinity cemetery? I also understand that Tinley Park was originally called Bremen. My wife and I are doing a Breitbarth genealogy we currently have nearly 6000 Breitbarth's listed. We have traced my ancestors back to 1476 in Oberdorla Germany.

You are doing very good with your research and I applaud you for your efforts. It is so cool that you have traced your famly to 1476 Germany. One part of my family came here from Holland in 1651 and in the Netherlands unfortunatly the records are not there for me to trace my family back further as the records were destroyed many years ago. Good luck with your family tree. Aten       :D

I looove geneology! One branch of my family came to the U.S. from England in 1621...some of the first immigrants to the new world!

I'm also a great great great (and so on) nephew of this guy: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Axtell

And on the same branch, I'm related to Lurancy Vennum: http://http://www.prairieghosts.com/watseka.html

I have been trying to narrow down all the facts surrounding the "church of Batchelors Grove" so I can't give you a definitive answer just yet as to the date when it was changed. Hopefully you can be patient as I compile more information. Once I get to a certain point I will be making a page about it.

As for the name Tinley Park and Bremen, Bremen township came first. But there is still a Bremen and a Tinley Park which coexist today. I think Brad Bettenhausen did a paper on it at some point. If I come across it again in my files I'll post it for ya.

Thanks for the copy of the obituary, however there is a mistake. Christoph had eight children the two oldest are missing in the obit, Wilhelm (William) 1876 and Carl 1878.
