I am not sure as to why you were not able to see or hear any animals at BG, but just this past weekend, we were able to see firsthand how the cemetery is just booming with life!

For example, almost every time that we visit the cemetery, we have seen deer both inside and outside the cemetery. You can see that the deer find the cemetery to be a nice place to relax for there are many areas where the grass and weeds have been flattened.

All over the cemetery you can always find frogs and toads hopping around. Ground squirrels can be found scurrying around as well. We came across a baby garter snake, and while taking a moment to relax, we saw a hummingbird flying around the flowers!

If you look closely at the pond, you will find many many frogs, as well as a muskrat who tends to make an appearance every now and then.

These are just a few of the animals that you can see at BG. I think that perhaps sometimes peoples minds are more focused on finding things other than animals so that may play a part in as to why these animals are sometimes aren't seen.

I've never seen any deer.. but I know what you're saying. Most of the time people are searching for paranormal activity and forget that it's a forest lol.

However, I do notice the birds quite a bit. :P

I almost stepped on a baby deer laying in the Cemetary once!  I think I still have to post those photos from that time!

The only instance of animal life i noticed in the cemetery was ducks in the pond.  Nice to see that it's not completely barren though. :D

I have seen deer tracks in the grove, but I rarely see any other animals larger than a bird in the area.  The forest preserve has a lot of animals (deer, wolves, etc. just drive on La Grange road at night and see for yourself!)  Why they all stay away from the grove is a mystery to me.

One time a deer jumped out of the bushes and scared us half to death.

I've been seeing quite a few more animals outside of the Grove recently, especially deer.  A coyote scared the hell out of me today as I was leaving the Grove.
