The fact is that behind that stone is a tree stump. It doesn't look like a ghost or a girl. It just looks like a tree stump.

I have 100's of photos of the cemetery taken in the day and night hours. Some were taken while I was alone, some while with other folks, and heck, some with Pete who runs this site. There are a lot of trees in those photos, but no ghosts. (Not saying there are or are not ghosts).

I think that a person should first look to the natural surroundings in these photos and maybe then see if there are other explainations possible once those natural reasons are knocked out. To start off thinking you saw a ghost in the photo is a giant leap to make and results in quick debunking.

It's a good photo. Maybe you could go back during the day and try to recreate that shot and see if it really is a tree stump or something like that.

Hi Joker, I'm new to this site. This year, I just started reading "Windy City Ghosts" by Dale Kaczmarek and two other books on Chicagoland hauntings. Cannot stop thinking about Bachelor's Grove all day today. I'll have to pray for those souls.

I see a semi-transparent woman right in front of the tree itself, you can see parts of the tree through her. She is seated with her hands folded. In the morning light, on my old computer screen, she is very clear. In fact, she is the very same girl with the long brown hair and white dress that was seated on the "checkerboard" gravestone pictured in Dale K's book. Same flat face, barely there nose. In your picture, she is sitting in an invisible chair in the same posture, only we don't quite see all of her, or her feet.

Yes, it is there. It isn't just the tree.
